That 1) I've not blogged since last September - shame, shame; 2) There's yet more snow approaching our area here in Southern Maine - and if we get the anticipated snowfall in the next week - we *could* be pushing 100 inches (yikes!) for this winter season; and 3) I once again watched the "Mother's Day Miracle" Red Sox replay of 5/13/2007 for the 5th time now in the winter where the Sox scored 6 runs in the bottom of the ninth to overcome a 5 run deficit against the Orioles.
Absolutely, my only hope right now is watching the NESN spring training updates, and donning my recent birthday gift - a replica Pedroia jersey!
Finally!
The HDTV Gods finally blessed us poor Cumberland County (Southern Maine) Time Warner Cable subscribers with an HD CBS-TV (WGME-DT 13.1) feed. Just in time for the New England Patriots vs. the Indianapolis Colts AFC Championship playoff game! The Sinclair folks finally struck a bargain with TWC. (or is it vice-versa? Meh. Who cares!!!). I'm sure it will appear on my bill soon thereafter, but I and my finance are in HD bliss. Go Pats!
(Let's just hope that the game doesn't go past 10:00pm on 1.21.2007, because I'll miss the start of Battlestar Galactica season 3.5. Pfft!)
I hate to say...this whole global warming thing (especially around Christmas time) is getting silly. It appears - unless the National Weather Service adjusts their forecast models - that we're once again getting a green-brown Christmas in Southern Maine. I guess I shouldn't gripe, but for some reason I recall that in my childhood - and in Southwestern Ohio of all places - we got more snow than now. Maybe it's because I've become more *jaded* in my "older" years. It seems that winter as of late hasn't truly fired up until at least January. Okay - I'll get off the climatological soapbox now.
